Le Clot Chambres d'Hotes
Our Accommodation
Le Clot Chambres D’Hotes is an ideal place to spend a relaxing break away from crowded coastal resorts. Come and stay at our beautifully restored 18th century stone built farm house situated on the hillside overlooking the picturesque river Viaur, in the Aveyron Department of South West France.
We have three double en-suite rooms available throughout the year for Bed & Breakfast with optional evening meal. In October 2007 we registered with Gite de France and were awarded a 3 Epi rating. You are invited to take a dip in our 11 metre pool, relax in the shade with a book or simply enjoy the stunning views.
Dining
Breakfast is usually served outside on the terrace and includes home made bread, croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit and our own jams and preserves, all served with freshly squeezed juices and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. After a day sightseeing or other activity you can relax with an aperitif and enjoy the balmy evening air before joining us, on the terrace, for a four course dinner, including wine and coffee. Meals are prepared with ingredients from our own garden or sourced locally. To avoid disappointment please book dinner in advance.
Location
We are located mid-way between Rodez and Albi in the Midi-Pyrénées area of south west France. The property is set within 15 acres of open countryside and woodland overlooking the Viaur valley and historic Viaduc du Viaur. Our nearest village, Naucelle, is a 10 minute drive away and has all essential amenities including a supermarket, bars, restaurants and an open air swimming pool. We are only a 25 minute drive from the beautiful world heritage city of Albi, on the River Tarn, with its magnificent cathedral, the Toulouse Lautrec museum, café culture, excellent restaurants and wonderful shops.
Climate
The region is blessed with bright blue skies for most of the year and summers are pleasantly hot. Spring and autumn are usually mild, thus ensuring a very pleasurable stay whichever time of year you decide to come and visit.
Our Region
We are situated in an area of the Aveyron called the Pays des Cent Vallées (land of a hundred valleys) and, as the name suggests, there are rolling hills with many beautiful rivers and an abundance of wildlife making the area ideal for walkers, birdwatchers and cyclists alike. We have several mountain bikes that guests may use at no additional cost and guided walks can be arranged on request. Within easy reach are many medieval ‘Bastide' villages including Villefranche de Rouergue, Najac and Sauveterre de Rouergue. The area has no less than 10 villages classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, Cordes sur Ciel, Belcastel, and Conques, to name just a few. Further a field and ideal for a day trip are places such as the famous Millau Bridge (the tallest in the world), the caves at Roquefort (famous for its blue cheese), Toulouse or even the Mediterranean coast.
